At Fort while we were walking, Me and Sree.. our usual chit chatter was on
A small dainty looking creature walked towards us.. she was wearing something torn colored fawn
She pulled our dupattas and we freaked out coz of the jerk
We kinda ignored and moved on, thinking it’s one of those kid’s typical quirk
Again that afternoon we went down to Mocambo’s just opposite our door
We were relishing goey chocolate on our way back, she was staring at us her eyes showed lure
We both just looked at that pretty petite girl looking at us with her popping eyes
That we noticed her, she came running to us “didi mujhe khila do na kuch” were her cries
We bought her biscuits & vada pav and she devoured it almost instantly and in haste
We did this almost everyday but the divinely feeling made us feel nothing was a waste
She was so excited to greet us every morning.. she did not demand anything at that time, smart!
But ensured when we were down post lunch, she would eat our heads till we bought her something from the neighbouring mart
Today I walk through the crowded streets of andheri looking around for something I did not know what..
She must have grown big now… going to school I hope, but I miss that sparkle those innocent eyes bought
