Like me, I am sure we all believe ‘main apni favourite hoon’
concept…
How many times we have seen ourselves in the mirror and felt
“we should have got that promotion/ that award” or “I could have done better
than that chick/ guy”
Haven’t we rehearsed hypothetical speeches that we’d give if
we’d win an award at the Oscars/ Film fare/ etc..
For us, we all give award winning performances every day. We
all are our favorites. There ain’t anybody like us… right?
Look at your life closely.. Apart from the obvious few people
who care for us and are there with their undivided support and attention.. Who
all get us closer to where we wana be?
A huge lot of supporting actors. Special appearances. There’s
always a someone playing a cameo in your life to make it for you.
And let’s forget the obvious people who’d be there always.
Irrespective. This is for those people whom we have conveniently forgotten, but
without whom we wouldn’t be where we are.
During every tough time, there has always been a stranger, an acquaintance,
a third party who directly/ indirectly acts as a catalyst.. a trigger to make
you stronger… a cause for change. A cause for the restlessness. A cause for a
transformation.
Could be competition in the form of a peer, that makes you
perform better. Which helps you re-discover the inner potential in you?
Could be jealousy in the form of a better looking girl/
human being trying to hit on your guy. Which helps you feel stronger for your
love, take him more seriously and less for granted?
Could be a child whom you are just observing when you’re
about to quit on life. Just by seeing his unadulterated enthusiasm of life, may
be that helped you to re-consider your decision to quit?
Could be a random conversation between two strangers in a train
when you’re deep engrossed in your thoughts. May be that helped you sort out
your mind?
Could be a person you’ve lost in life, his memories make you
do certain good things?
Could be a character in a novel/ film/ real life hero which
made you change the way you look at things?
Could be a person who gave us a long bhashan and vanished.
But his words made sense. And which made you stronger?
Could be a jerk in your life who once said ‘ YOU cannot do
that thing in your life”.. and which made you work towards your weakness and you
finally did achieve it?
Honestly, let’s for a second think about all these people in
our life? Do we even minutely remember them? Ever? Hardly/ barely right?
And look what they’ve done to us? J They’ve helped us become what we are today.
They’ve enabled the change.
Made us whom we are today. Or at least played a huge role in
the process.
Other than the obvious
few in our lives, there are these certain people who give special appearances
in our bestseller life story. Who act as enablers, triggers for change. For our
better. Directly or indirectly they transform us, leading us closer to where
we've always wanted to be. Without which our life story would not be even
worthy nominations. So here's to the cameos in our life, to make good things
happen. :)
Cheers
Neha
